節分の季節がやって参りました！
節分と言えば「豆まき」ですね
日本橋の水天宮では、今年も豆まきイベントが行われます😃

毎年著名人も参加するこのイベント
豆拾い（沢山の人出で、実際は”キャッチする”という印象です！）には無料で参加できます
また、ご参加料を頂ければ実際に豆まきをすることもできます✊

Have you heard of Setsubun? Literally meaning “division of seasons”, this is a special holiday in Japan that is held the day before spring! 🌸

Setsubun is marked by a number of different traditions. One of such traditions mame-maki, during which you scatter soybeans around your home, or throw them at a person in a demon mask. The idea behind this is to chase away bad luck and invite in good luck to one’s household. Another related tradition is then picking up and eating the number of soybeans corresponding to one’s age.

Mame-maki is often held at shrines as well – here in Nihonbashi, Suitengu Shrine in Ningyocho will be holding mame-maki on February 3rd, during which participants can scatter beans as well. You can watch the mame-maki for free, or for a fee you can join in.
